NEW YORK, NY, November 2, 2022 – Kaplan Hecker & Fink LLP is pleased to announce that we have been named to Bloomberg Law’s inaugural list of Pro Bono Innovators.

Bloomberg Law’s Pro Bono Innovators special report highlights a selection of leaders in the law who embody the philosophy of service in their pro bono work for the underserved. This first group of honorees was selected after Bloomberg “receiv[ed] a robust response,” and considered whether the nominees “use[d] creative ways to get around barriers for their clients,” “c[a]me up with unique solutions to tackle complex legal matters,” and applied “their analytical prowess [to] help them solve problems others either hadn’t identified or were unable to tackle.”

Our profile highlights the groundbreaking, $26 million verdict we secured for our clients in Sines v. Kessler, the case in which we sued the organizers of the 2017 “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, as well as our work challenging Florida’s “Don’t Say Gay” law, defending COVID-related executive orders in Kentucky and Virginia, challenging the unconstitutional conditions of confinement at a federal prison in Brooklyn, and obtaining dismissal of defamation claims brought by Rep. Devin Nunes against Liz Mair.
