Emma Buckland Young is a Case Manager at Kaplan Hecker & Fink. Emma graduated from Emory University in 2017 with a double major in Classics and Dance and Movement Studies. She also studied abroad at the Intercollegiate Center for Classical Studies in Rome, exploring the history, archaeology, art and language of the ancient world. During her time at college, Emma was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa and earned recognition on the Dean’s List for seven semesters, as well as receiving numerous other honors from the Classics department.

“The intricacies of law have always been a source of fascination for me. I believe that my position with Kaplan Hecker & Fink LLP will allow me to discover where my own interests and passions lie, affording me hands-on experience with legal work and an opportunity to make a difference for my community.”

Emma’s interest in the law stems from her deep passion for serving the community, exemplified by her leadership and volunteer experience in college. Emma served as the vice-chair of the University Center Board, president of the Classics honors society, Latin tutor, and choreographer for Emory’s official dance concert. She has volunteered as tutor to low-income schools and programs for over eight years, aiding students of all ages, and is also proud to have worked as Senior Finance Intern for Hillary for America in the Pacific Northwest. She loves traveling, reading, and taking the ferry around her hometown of Seattle.

Emma is excited to continue exploring public service through the work of Kaplan Hecker & Fink’s passionate and principled team. She plans to attend law school in the future.
