Tali Farhadian Weinstein

Tali Farhadian Weinstein is Of Counsel at Kaplan Hecker & Fink.

Tali's practice focuses on gender justice and public interest litigation. She also serves as a Legal Analyst for NBC News and MSNBC, and an Adjunct Professor of Law at New York University School of Law. Her writing has appeared in The New York Times, The New York Daily News, and other publications. She was named to City & State New York's "Power of Diversity: Middle Eastern & North African 50" list.

Tali has had a long career in public service. She served as the General Counsel of the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office from 2018 to 2020. In this role, Tali was part of the leadership team charged with implementing the office’s criminal justice reform agenda, and created the nation’s first Post-Conviction Justice Bureau. She also served as Counsel to Attorney General Eric Holder, and as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of New York. As a federal prosecutor, Tali investigated and prosecuted cases ranging from gun violence and murders to public corruption, tax and other frauds, and national security matters. 

Tali clerked for the Hon. Justice Sandra Day O’Connor of the United States Supreme Court, and for the Hon. Merrick B. Garland of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit. She received her J.D. from Yale Law School.  She received her B.A. from Yale University, and her Master’s Degree in Middle East Studies from Oxford University, which she attended as a Rhodes Scholar.  Tali is a Trustee of the New York Public Library, where she chairs the Audit Committee, a Trustee of the Vera Institute for Justice, and serves on the Board of Directors of the International Refugee Assistance Project.
