Estevan Reta is the Docketing Clerk at Kaplan Hecker & Fink LLP.

Prior to joining KHF, Estevan served as a Legal Docket Administrator at Amtrak, where they managed formal administrative hearings, including over 300 ongoing cases nationwide related to employee policy violations while ensuring compliance with the company’s labor union agreements.

Earlier in their career, Estevan interned at the Pension Rights Center (PRC) in Washington D.C., where they led the evaluation of over fifteen programs and spearheaded a comprehensive overhaul of the organization's client database. They also interned at the Prevent Human Trafficking (PHT); an organization specialized in tackling human trafficking, specifically in Thailand.

Previously, Estevan was a Legal Assistant for the Criminal Division at the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), where they worked on case material analysis, policy evaluation, and report preparation. Estevan continued work for the DOJ as a Court Clerk in New York City, where they assisted federal immigration judges in court proceedings.

Estevan received their B.A. from American University’s School of International Service in International Studies, specializing in the South American region. As an undergrad, they were a Community-Based Research Scholar (CBRS) that actively engaged in impactful initiatives relating to the revitalization efforts for low-income communities, and with local non-profit organizations to conduct community-based research to support individuals experiencing homelessness. Estevan presented a research plan at the ARNOVA conference, highlighting a project aimed at better understanding the needs of the transgender community in Washington, D.C. They were a member of Sigma Iota Rho and Latinx & American Student Organization (LASO). Additionally, Estevan received certificates in both Community-Based Research and Educating Allies and Generating Leaders for Equity (E.A.G.L.E.).
