Jocelyn Hassel

Jocelyn Hassel is an associate at Kaplan Hecker & Fink LLP.

Jocelyn’s practice focuses on civil litigation, complex securities litigation, white collar and fraud investigations, and data privacy and cybersecurity litigation. Prior to joining KHF, Jocelyn was an associate at Hogan Lovells US LLP, where she represented companies in connection with internal investigations covering securities fraud, complex fraud, and class action matters. She received Hogan Lovells’ national “Pro Bono Trailblazer” award in recognition of her substantial contributions in the areas of housing and economic justice.

Jocelyn maintains a robust pro bono practice and has served as lead associate on legal matters relating to tenants’ rights, record sealing, humanitarian parole, compassionate release, disability benefits, and advocacy for unhoused New Yorkers. Earlier in her career, Jocelyn was a legal assistant at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP, where she contributed trilingual skills while based in Frankfurt and New York.

Jocelyn received her J.D. from Harvard Law School, where she was a housing justice advocate with Harvard Law School’s Tenant Advocacy Project (TAP), the Legal Services Center of Harvard Law School, and Queens Legal Services. She was also a legal intern for the Safety Net Project at the Urban Justice Center. While attending law school, Jocelyn served as a Teaching Fellow and developed a new social change curriculum for first-year law students. Jocelyn’s work has been published by the Harvard Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review, the Harvard Law and Policy Review, and the UCLA Chicanx-Latinx Law Review. She served as the co-chair of Harvard Law’s Affinity Group Coalition, and held committee positions in La Alianza and the Black Law Students Association. Jocelyn received her B.A. in Political Science from Vassar College, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa.
