Patrick Balke is an associate at Kaplan Hecker & Fink LLP.
Patrick joins KHF after completing clerkships with the Hon. Ronald M. Gould of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the Hon. Matthew Leitman of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. Patrick has prior experience as an associate at Williams & Connolly, where his practice included researching and drafting briefs on dispositive and evidentiary motions in civil and pro bono criminal matters. In this role, Patrick also assisted with discovery, coordinating and tracking third-party subpoenas, and identifying and vetting consulting and testifying experts.
Patrick received his J.D., summa cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School where he was Senior Editor of the Michigan Law Review. While there, he served as a law clerk for the university’s Office of the Vice President and General Counsel and held a legal internship with the Michigan State Appellate Defender Office.
Patrick received his B.A. from the University of Michigan.
