Patrick Hornbeck

Patrick Hornbeck is an Associate at Kaplan Hecker & Fink LLP.

Patrick joins KHF after completing a clerkship with the Hon. Denny Chin of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, where he assisted with research, drafting opinions and memoranda, and other appellate materials. In this role, he also supported civil cases in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York as well as criminal and civil cases and habeas petitions in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.

Prior to pursuing a career in law, Patrick served on Fordham University’s faculty for over a decade, during which time he held the roles of interim dean of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, secretary of the Faculty Senate, chair of the Theology Department, and special advisor to the Provost for strategic planning. Patrick regularly comments in the national and international media on matters related to law and religion. Among other publications, he has written for Inside Higher Ed, the Buffalo Law Review, and the Journal of Law and Education.

Patrick received his J.D., summa cum laude, from Fordham Law School, graduating first in his class and as a member of the Order of the Coif. He received doctoral and master's degrees from Oxford University and his B.A. from Georgetown University, summa cum laude, where he graduated first in his class.
