Reed Keefe

Reed Keefe is counsel at Kaplan Hecker & Fink LLP. 

Reed has extensive experience representing individuals and companies in white collar criminal defense and securities enforcement matters and in complex civil litigation.

Reed joins the firm as counsel from a New York-based litigation boutique, where she represented clients in investigations and proceedings brought by the DOJ, SEC, FINRA and various state Attorneys General concerning securities fraud and insider trading, among other subjects. In those cases, she participated in negotiations with the DOJ and regulators, drafted and argued motions, and served as co-counsel in federal criminal trials. In her former role, she also handled various stages of complex civil litigation in both state and federal court, including discovery and deposition defense, dispositive briefing, and settlement negotiation.

Reed completed clerkships with the Hon. Kiyo A. Matsumoto of the U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of New York and the Hon. Steven M. Gold of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York. Earlier in her career, Reed served as an intern in the Economic, Social and Cultural Rights Division of Amnesty International UK.

Reed received her J.D. from Columbia University School of Law, where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and served as an articles editor of the Columbia Human Rights Law Review. She received her MSc, with merit, from London School of Economics and her B.A., magna cum laude, from Brown University.
