Alison Hurst

Alison Hurst is a case manager at Kaplan Hecker & Fink LLP. She joined the firm in 2022. 

Prior to joining the firm, Alison worked as a Public Policy Intern with The Fortune Society, a social service and policy advocacy organization providing housing and reentry services for formerly incarcerated individuals. She also has experience as a Reentry Research Intern with the Durham County Criminal Justice Resource Center, a community center focused on providing reentry, rehabilitative, and legal resources for justice-involved individuals in Durham County.

Alison also worked as a Restorative Justice Fellow at the Kenan Institute for Ethics and a co-instructor for the course “Restorative Justice at Duke and Beyond.” Alison also acted as the Co-President of the Sexual Assault Prevent Team at Duke University and a counselor at Camp Kesem at Duke University, the annual free summer camp programming for children affected by a parent’s cancer. She was also a Research Assistant for the Wrongful Convictions Clinic at Duke University School of Law.

Alison received her B.A. from Duke University, where she was awarded The Mary McLeod Bethune Writing Award by the African and African American Studies Department.
